Las instituciones de Bretton Woods, criticadas por su historial de rebajar los esta\u0301ndares sociales y ambientales, quieren promover el \u201ce\u0301xito\u201d de sus poli\u0301ticas y reformas neoliberales en Peru\u0301 ante el resto del mundo.<\/p>\n<p>En 1990, Peru\u0301 adopto\u0301 el programa de ajuste estructural del Banco Mundial con el objetivo de hacer al pai\u0301s ma\u0301s atractivo para las empresas extranjeras mediante una serie de reformas de desregulacio\u0301n y privatizacio\u0301n, tal como el levantamiento de las restricciones a la propiedad extranjera de la tierra. Entre 1990 y 2015, los pre\u0301stamos del Banco Mundial al Peru\u0301 aumentaron considerablemente y totalizaron ma\u0301s de 7 mil millones de do\u0301lares destinados al pai\u0301s durante el peri\u0301odo.<\/p>\n<p>En los u\u0301ltimos an\u0303os, el Peru\u0301 se ha mantenido bajo los buenos cuidados del Banco Mundial. En 2015, ocupa el puesto 35 en las clasificaciones Doing Business del banco, la segunda puntuacio\u0301n ma\u0301s alta en Ame\u0301rica Latina, lo que indica que el gobierno ha \u201ccreado un entorno normativo propicio para los negocios\u201d. En 2008, Peru\u0301 solicito\u0301 la ayuda de la Corporacio\u0301n Financiera International (CFI), el brazo del sector privado del Banco Mundial, para disen\u0303ar un nuevo programa de reformas puesto en marcha en 2009. A continuacio\u0301n, el informe Doing Business registro\u0301 15 reformas pro-empresariales ratificadas entre 2010 y 2013. Esto incluye aceleracio\u0301n de tra\u0301mites ante el registro de la propiedad, recortes en las prestaciones sociales de los trabajadores y reducciones de impuestos para las empresas privadas. Sin embargo, la mejora del clima de negocios para atraer la inversio\u0301n extranjera ha provocado graves repercusiones sobre las poblaciones campesinas, indi\u0301genas, los trabajadores y el medioambiente, lo que resulto\u0301 en el aumento de los conflictos sociales. Al mismo tiempo, la economi\u0301a peruana, orientada a la exportacio\u0301n, ha experimentado una significativa desaceleracio\u0301n en los u\u0301ltimos tres an\u0303os, debido principalmente a la menor demanda China por el petro\u0301leo y los minerales.
